Spooning With Rosie and other double entendres

spooning_with_rosie

Ye Gods. Why would you bring out a recipe book entitled "Spooning With Rosie"?

Why then would you seek to enhance the skeevy connotations by adding the immortal tagline:

"Food, Friendship and Kitchen Loving"

Why then would you have on the cover a Ladybird style faux-naif illustration of yourself rivalling the girl from the Exorcist in the neck mobility stakes?

Exorcist

Why?

To be fair though, the Ladybird books were just as dodgy:

LOL that is so scary, she is the exorcist!

Love those old Ladybird covers, was it a more innocent time or were our parents just stupid?
